Professor Guibas works on algorithms for sensing, modeling, reasoning, rendering, and acting on the physical world. His interests span computational geometry, geometric modeling, computer graphics, computer vision, robotics, and discrete algorithms. Current projects
include:
randomized geometric algorithms
rounding geometric structures
visibility-based motion planning
data structures for mobile data
image data-base query and navigation
Monte-Carlo algorithms for global illumination
and motion planning

Professor Guibas heads the geometric computation group in the Computer Science Department of Stanford University. He is a member of the Computer Graphics and Robotics Laboratories.
