Exploit structure
Objects interact only via their interface – their imports and exports.
- An object is conditionally independent of all other objects given its interface.
Inference can be encapsulated within objects, with “communication” limited to interfaces.
Cost of inference grows:
- with complexity of object network fragments
- exponentially in size of interface
- linearly in # of objects.
