Overall
itinerary
My trip to Central Asia in 2004 included three
treks:
1) Aksu
(in Kyrgyzstan),
2) Kichi-Alay (in
Kyrgyzstan),
3) Fann mountains (in Tajikistan).
Along the way, I also visited several towns:
Tashkent, Khudjend, Osh, Dushanbe, Penjikent, and Samarkand. Between the last two treks, I
briefly visited Peak
Lenin base camp. For this trip, I used the services of Asia Travel (a company
based in Tashkent). They did an outstanding job despite many politically sensitive border crossings, lot of bureaucracy, terrible
roads, and scarce gasoline.
