Bibliographical Information
Since June 1999, I am a part time senior research associate with the Computer Science Department at Stanford University, and a part time principal scientist at a start-up called Peakstone.

After finishing my PhD in 92 under Judea Pearl at UCLA, I went to the Rockwell Science Center in Palo Alto, where I was a member of the technical staff with the Decision Theory group.  In 1996 I moved to SRI International, where I was a senior computer scientist and program manager of the  Learning and Adaptive Systems Program.

At Stanford I am currently working on learning and adaptation in the context of multiagent systems (more below).  At Peakstone I am working on adaptive control algorithms for service assurance in the web

Professional Activities

I am currently the program co-chair (with Craig Boutilier) of the Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence CUAI-2k.

I am also in the editorioal board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR), and the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research.  I have also served on the program committees of the major Artificial Intelligence conferences inclusing UAI, AAAI, KDD since 1992.
