ECCO provides an excellent opportunity to discuss recent and important issues in Combinatorial Optimisation and its applications with European combinatorialists. ECCO-XI will bring together scientists and industrialists working in the area of combinatorial optimization, computer science, operations research and management science. Several invited speakers have been asked to present tutorials. Contributed papers will be organized in two parallel streams and, following the tradition of ECCO, contributions from young researchers and industrial engineers are strongly encouraged. The conference will take place at University of Copenhagen (Campus of Natural Sciences) which is located centrally in Copenhagen at walking distance from the medieval city centre. Accommodation will be available in hotels ranging from app. 400 DKR per night. TUTORIALS Currently the following speakers have accepted to present tutorials: Dominique de Werra, Gabor Galambos. Additional tutorials are being organized. DATES AND DEADLINES Januar 1, 1998: Deadline for submission of abstracts. February 1, 1998: Notification of accepted talks. March 15, 1998: Deadline for payment of conference fee. April 1, 1998: Program is available at the WWW site of ECCO-XI. May 27-29, 1998: The conference. CALL FOR PAPERS The conference is open for presentations on both applied and theoretical aspects of Combinatorial Optimization. We are planning sessions on the following topics: Scheduling, Polyhedral Combinatorics, Heuristics, Location Analysis, Logistics and Routing, Graph Theory, Network Optimization, Telecommunication, Packing and Cutting, etc. INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS Registration and submission of abstracts will be handled electronically. The forms may be downloaded from our WWW site: http://www.diku.dk/announce/conferences/ecco98/ CONFERENCE FEE Traditionally ECCO has had no conference fee. An unfortunate effect has been a substantial number of no-shows. Therefore, ECCO-XI will have a nominal fee of 50 USD. Participants not able to pay the fee may apply for a reduction or excuse from the fee. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE Chair: David Pisinger Claus Caroe, Jens Clausen, Jakob Krarup, Oli B.G. Madsen, Jorgen Tind. ECCO ADVISORY BOARD Jacek Blazewicz, Van-Dat Cung, Alain Hertz, Silvano Martello, Paolo Toth.
