The Colloquium will be held at Certosa di Pontignano, near Siena, a beautiful mediaeval town between Rome and Florence, where the Chianti wine is produced. Original papers are solicited on the interaction between structural properties, knowledge and complexity in - distributed computing - parallel systems - interconnection networks - mobile computing - wireless networks - high-speed networks Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): * sense of direction * compact routing schemes * topological awareness and metric information * network topologies * structural properties and computability * topology-dependent communication * complexity of constructing structural information * complexity of maintaining structural information The colloquium will comprise + position papers (outlining open problems, research directions, etc.) + tutorials + research papers Authors should send 10 copies of an extended abstract of at most 15 double-spaced pages, clearly indicating the type of submission (position, tutorial, research), to: SIROCCO'96 Carleton University School of Computer Science Ottawa K1S 5B6 Canada The deadline for submission of papers is March 1, 1996. Authors will be notified regarding the acceptance of their papers by electronic mail by April 8, 1996. Authors should include their electronic address. Accepted abstracts will be distributed as a collection of colloquium papers available during the conference. The official proceedings will be published by Carleton University Press and will be mailed to the participants afterwards.
